Winnetou was a bottle baby who became an aggressive adult. He has charged and stomped people to the point that people entered his pen armed with a stick. But, despite the odds, he has really mellowed out.

We first realized it when he cut his leg and needed it treated. He allowed people to wrap his leg and was given treats to cheer him up. It caught everyone's attention that he wasn't acting aggressively anymore.

We can freely enter his pen and give him hugs and kisses and ear rubs. The worst he does is spit if you pet him too much without grain to offer!

You may have noticed the entertaining facial expression Winnetou makes in his photos. They are often accompanied with cartoonish sound effects and the occasional antsy squirm. He cracks me up!

Winnetou is reasonably well-behaved on a halter with his only flaw being crowding me for grain. He is, after all, a dude who loves food.

Winnetou will remain a pen companion with his nephew Malibu (who definitely is dominant over him) and severalother males. His fleece, which is a gorgeous pumpkin spice, will be processed and sold. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer him as a stud. After all, he has gotten his temperament under control. The last thing he needs is surging hormones!

He has beautiful pumpkin spice colored fiber.

I love this boy and I am so thrilled to have him with us!
